Survivor’s Gold

Two years after Edgar and Crow met aboard the Marauder's Charm, they find themselves members of the crew. They had imagined excitement, battle, and plunder, but found nothing but hard work and long days. Crow took to the new life well, but Edgar grew increasingly anxious for a fight.

With each battle that passed, Edgar cursed his choice to join the ship. What was the point of being a pirate if one couldn't raid with the crew? Told that he was too young and his fledgling fire magic was too unpredictable, the boy felt left out of the life he had expected.

Feeling as trapped as he was in the brig, Edgar falls back on the only thing he knows; picking a path and sprinting down it at full speed. Dragging Crow along with him for the journey, he's left wondering;
