Adele Fontaine grew up in St. Paul, Alberta, and has lived in Edmonton most of her life, with the exception of a two-year hiatus in her late sixties during which she taught ESL in South Korea. She attended the University of Alberta and graduated from the Campus Saint-Jean. She has travelled extensively and received teachings from the Dalai Lama.
She was married to Normand Fontaine for fifty-three years, has seven children, some wonderful sons and daughters-in-love, fourteen grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
My Sunday with Normand is a selection of the poems written by Adele every Sunday morning since her husband of 53 years passed away – a ritual that began as a way to process loss, and transformed into a true celebration of the enormous life and love they shared.
