One stormy night could change everything...
Firefighter Gage Torres is currently certified to work the rescue squad and perform dangerous rescues on shift, but his adrenaline junkie side is always looking for more. Recently chosen for the coveted opportunity to become trained to work forest fires, he's excited to ship out to California and get started. Only thing is, he has to leave his younger brothers behind, whom he's never been away from, but they have some unexpected news of their own to share.
Aerial Firefighter Xavier Cruz is an instructor for the Sacramento Fire Division. Rough around the edges, Xavier prefers to remain a loner. He doesn't have close friends, his social skills are terrible, and even his sixteen-year-old son doesn't like him. A former fighter pilot for the Air Force, he suffers from PTSD and has turned to alcohol to fight the nightmares. But if he's ever going to mend his relationship with his son to protect him like a real father would, Xavier needs to find a way to get sober, and fast.
During a routine practice flight, their helicopter is attacked and they crash in the forest. With no map and no cell signal, the men must find a way to survive both a storm and crazy extremists with no supplies until they can get to safety. Forced to share body heat when they spend the night in a cave, things take an unexpected turn and survival becomes a night neither of them can seem to forget.
Will Gabe and Xavier make the connection between them work, or are they doomed from the start?
