Based on a true story, Oscar's Rocket is a heartwarming tale about a young Australian boy named Oscar who dearly misses his grandparents living far away in Ireland. One night, after sharing his weekly adventures with his Granny and Granda via video call, Oscar becomes sad about their distance. Determined to find a way to visit them, he dreams up several plans, including driving, walking, and flying, but each idea has its challenges.

Finally, inspired by a pile of boxes in his room, Oscar decides to build a rocket to visit his grandparents. Despite his creative efforts and various attempts to make it take off, the rocket won't fly. Unbeknownst to Oscar, his grandparents also miss him deeply. After hearing about his imaginative project, they decide to surprise him by traveling to see him.

When Oscar wakes up the next morning, he is overjoyed to find his Granny and Granda in his living room. Believing his rocket somehow brought them to him, he is filled with happiness and determination to perfect his invention, dreaming of reuniting with more family members. Oscar's Rocket beautifully captures the power of imagination and the love that bridges distances between family members.
