This story is set in a small coastal town, Angourie in Northern NSW, in the early nineteen-nineties. Matilda Macallan, has lived her whole life in Angourie, growing up with her three older brothers. She's a wild child, so her life has been filled with temporary and transient love.

Dalton, a country boy from Deniliquin, with a tragic backstory enters Matilda's workplace, The Angourie Local, where the only whisky they sell is The Macallan, after their family namesake.

Matilda and Dalton form a beautiful, magnetic and romantic friendship in a very short space of time. The only challenge within this new relationship is that Matilda has some emotional triggers from past relationships, and Dalton has a dark secret that he is trying to keep hidden.

They miscommunicate and go their separate ways only realising when it's too late, of their wrongdoings. Both are on a quest to find each other without even knowing the other one is looking for the other. Their search for each other takes them to Byron Bay, Coolangatta, and Surfers Paradise. The people they meet, and the adventures they endure eventually bring them back together, but not without one final twist.

This story makes you think about synchronicity in life. 'Some people believe that synchronicity is just a series of random coincidences. The difference is that a coincidence is perceived as chance or luck, while synchronicity implies the presence of a deeper intelligence at work.' - Carl Jung.

I like to think that synchronicity is the magical and universal tapestry of life that weaves us together in nature and human connection. Synchronicity is the most beautiful silent concept at work, happening around us and within us, every day of our lives.

In the early 90s, with no mobile phones or social media to keep us connected, still somehow, the magic of life still happened in such a beautiful and natural way. That's when synchronicity did some really good work, if you were paying attention. And if not...I guess you'd never know the difference.
