When a massive amount of gamma radiation is detected somewhere beneath the desert of Iran, the world begins watching. Is it a nuclear weapon, or something much much worse? Alex Hunter and his highly trained incursion team are dropped into the ruins of Persepolis but find nothing. No lab, no weapons, no scientists - not even radiation. A black hole has taken everything, but is it possible something could have come back? The President of Iran is making speeches about the end of the world and the return of the prophet, and yet another gamma spike is detected in Iran. Israel is threatening nuclear war, and the details of America's Arcadian program have been stolen. And someone, or something, is draining the fluids from the bodies of Iranian soldiers in the desert... The moon is buried in darkness and the world is folded. Alex must face his fears and follow the traces of radiation to the ancient caves of Arak. Inside those tunnels he will come face to face with a creature from his darkest nightmares.
