Hitch a ride on the Albatross Express and travel the globe with Plume: World Explorer. This exciting new picture book for little ones celebrates culture, diversity and the natural wonders of our world.
Plume is not your typical Antarctic penguin. Sporting a bright yellow plume on the top of his head, Plume is bored of black and white, of shuffling around and snoozing on icebergs. He much prefers to cook, read, knit and sky dive. He craves colour, adventure, excitement! He wants to seize the world he’s discovered in the books of his fantastical, glacier library (the largest in the Southern Hemisphere).
Plume’s great hope is to grow the hearts and minds of his penguin friends. Through his travels, children will engage with themes such as friendship, acceptance, understanding and the wellbeing of our planet.
Plume is truly a book for our times.

While we may not be able to travel much ourselves, the utterly delightful penguin Plume can, and he makes for a wonderful guide on a journey around the world, exploring different climates, locations and people.
Plume lives in Antarctica and loves new sights and smells. He discovers the world through books, and then orders exotic treats from the trusty postie, an albatross called Ava. One day, Ava invites Plume to accompany her on her postal round across the world. Plume has an incredible adventure, meeting children from different countries and learning about their culture and their lives. When Plume returns to Antarctica, he shares his adventures and a little bit of the world with his penguin family. For the penguins, used to a world of onlyblack and white, the colourful rainbow of the world is thrilling and inspiring.
With stunning illustrations and glorious end papers of a world map, Plume: World Explorer is a marvellous adventure for readers aged 4 and up to enjoy and learn.
