Born in London, Margaret Fensom migrated to Adelaide by steamship in 1947 as a small child. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Adelaide in 1967 and with a Masters in Creative Writing in 1999. She lives in Norwood and has two adult daughters and five grandchildren. She is currently studying theology part time at St Barnabas’ Theological College.

Margaret has published poems, short stories and articles in anthologies and journals, and is part-author, with Steve Brock and Murray Alfredson, of Friendly Street New Poets 12 (2007). Trains, the CD of her travels mainly by train in the UK and Europe in 1996, was beta published by L@R Hartley Publishers in 2008.

Her short story ‘Irish Millennium’ was a runner up in the Wirra Wirra Vineyards (South Australia) Short Story Competition and published in their anthology, Party Walls (2003). Her poems ‘Afterwards’ and ‘Fireworks’ won her equal first prize in the 2003 SA International Women’s Day Poetry Competition. They were subsequently published in Friendly Street New Poets 12 and in Multicultural Life. ‘Afterwards’ was published in Travelling: An Anthology of Award-Winning Poetry (Lulu Press) and was highly commended in the Tom Howard Poetry Contest.

This is Margaret’s first full-length collection of poetry.
