Pam and Jim are delighted to be offered a hotel on the windswept Cornish coast. The success of the inn and the landscaping of the garden had not

gone unnoticed.

But Wisky, Old Keg and the rest of the pals have a different opinion. Princess Pandora Petticoat thinks it is spooky.

The next day, they decide to explore the area and finding the coast path follow it to the beach. Startled by a loud bellow behind them and turning, they

stared into the eyes of a large strange creature. He tells him his name is Walt and he is a Walrus. Walt is friendly and soon tells them the sad story of the

mermaids trapped on mermaids' rock and because of an ancient curse are not able to leave until they find all the cryptic clues on the rock. Walt says he has searched for years without success. The pals promise Walt they would help to find them. The committee left on their own, explored the cave and when Toadie accidently nudged a loose stone he discovered the first clue in an old medicine bottle and they decide to take it back to the hotel.

Walt also surprises Old Keg with an old ice- cream van to dream in. And Old Keg loves it, as he settles down to sleep.

A wailing noise from mermaid's rock wakes him, and he gets up to look out of the window and noticed a crumbled paper fluttering to the floor. Realising

it is another clue he hurries to the cave.

Walt takes the clue to Lowenna an old Cornish friend who knows about the local legends, she tells him to drink the spring water from the mermaids

pond to activate the next clue.

At the next meeting Walt tells them he must go alone because the tides are dangerous and he is the only one that can navigate them. They leave Walt to

prepare and Old Keg goes back to his van. He dreams he is the getaway driver at a bank robbery.

Woken by the same noise, he is convinced Walt is in trouble and goes down to the causeway and the tide is already turning. Will Old Keg risk going

over to mermaid's rock ? And will Walt dive to the sea bed to search the wreck of the galleon to find the last clue to help them to safety?

As the mermaids wait anxiously, they know it is the animals most hazardous adventure so far.
