Short stories, poetry and essays by Scottish Science Fiction, fantasy and speculative fiction writers.
This is a special colour edition, printed on heavier-weight paper.
SF Caledonia is a free online magazine and resource of science fiction short stories, articles and poetry by Scottish writers.
It's a space for Scotland to show off its talented community of science fiction/ speculative fiction/fantasy writers to the world - and beyond.
Visit the website at www.sfcaledonia.scot where you will be able to find out all about it.
SF Caledonia Anthology One is the first print gathering of pieces published on the website, and is already showing the range of talents. Who knew that John Buchan, he of The Thirty-Nine Steps and Governer General of Canada wrote a scifi short story? Also too, Lewis Grassic Gibbon, writing under his real name of James Leslie Mitchell. And wait 'til you find out who wrote the very first Scottish science fiction novella, published in 1817, yes, the year before Mary Shelley's Frankenstein was published. There must have been something in the air in the early 1900s.
In Scotland science fiction is alive and well, thriving. This collection features a number of Scottish writers we have published in the award-winning Shoreline of Infinity Science Fiction Magazine, some of whom we have enjoyed helping to nurture on their way. We can only publish a small sample in book format, so do come along to the website where we are publishing freshly donated stories and articles every month.
By buying this anthology, you are helping to support the development of SF Caledonia, and the Scottish writers of science fiction, fantasy and speculative fiction. Pick your choice: the Special Edition, with colour artwork and design throughout, and printed on heavier paper; the classic black and white paperback.
