It's 1976 and Jenny is just 14 when she meets the charismatic Mr Smithson. Little does she realise the devastating impact their affair will have beyond the classroom, not only in her own life but in the lives of the people she loves most in the world. At college, she meets three other women Laura, Marianne, and Sally.
