A young cassowary bird sets off with her dad to look for fresh berries. When she becomes afraid of crossing deep water, she decides she has a better plan! Finding herself all alone she begins to regret her decision and, in the shadows, she senses dangers...

Will she find her way back to Dad?

Will she learn to trust him and will they finally get across the river to find ripe, red berries?

The male cassowary bird is found in the rainforests of Northern Australia and is known for his commitment to protecting and guiding his young. This fatherly devotion was the inspiration for this story.
