What comes first, the word or the image? Does the word change the image and vice versa? This second volume of The Influence focuses on the play between words and images. As opposed to illustrating poetry I want to experiment with letting the words and images change as the pieces developed. I took lots of liberty with the poetry as images came to mind, the words would change and then again, in turn, so would the images. Each piece became a process of revealing. After some proofreading my husband suggested I try removing all of the punctuation from the text, to further encourage the reader to more freely interpret the work. The result emphasizes the play between the words and images. Enjoy your interpretation.
