Poems to the Beloved is a celebration of life. It is about life's trials, tribulations, and turbulent times, yes, but it is also about life's joys, insights, achievements, and growth... physical, mental, and spiritual. It is a small part of the story that tells of an extraordinary person - Ian Faulkner. The Self of Ian Faulkner manifested this time in leafy Warwickshire. That rural idyll shaped and coloured his early years. Church and church music were important aspects of his life then. Ian's early working career was in the Financial Services Industry and later as a Management Consultant. He travelled widely in Europe, the Middle East, North and South America, Thailand and South Korea, which served him well as a potent learning experience.
Following a life-changing trauma in 1989, he studied both philosophy and English literature at The University of Oxford. Some years later, he studied Classical Indian Musicology and Performance with the Raj Academy of Asian Music and Thames Valley University. Ian is currently undertaking a BA (Hons) degree in Creative Writing at Aberystwyth University, Wales.
Today, Ian's passions are for the spiritual, divine arts, devotional music and mantra, yoga and walking in nature. He is a mystic, seer and writer.
