To love a shapeshifter was to love adaptively-to be whomever they needed and to love and accept whomever they were able to be for you. Angelina is a transgender woman living in the small town of Thivleton, England. She is stuck in a rut, living a mundane life and carrying out the same predictable tasks every day. But that all changes when she meets Flynn.

Flynn has an illness that makes them violently change every few days-age, sex, and ethnicity. As well, the illness affects Flynn's memory, so much of their past is a mystery.
