Warren Jay Smith Sr. was born in Inverness, Mississippi, on 31 July 1959, to George Reed, and Helen Smith. He received Christ at the age of six at New Hope M. B. Church located in Inverness. His other community activity includes the Cub Scout Pack, Boy Scouts Troop # 349 and a member of Inverness Elementary School marching band, as a baritone horn player. Prince Smith graduated from Gentry High School in Indianola, Mississippi in 1977.
He then enlisted in the United States Army. Prince Smith has served his country twenty-one consecutive years. During his tenure in the military, he earned the rank of Master Sergeant. Prince Smith received his associates’ degree in technology from Pierce College in Tacoma, Washington, his Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Wayland Baptist University and his Masters of Arts in Procurement and Acquisition Management from Webster University.
In 1986, Prince Smith was initiated into the Prince Hall Masonry in Lawton, Oklahoma by Mistletoe Lodge # 31. He is currently a member of Eureka Consistory #113 and he was the founding Commander in Chief of Booker T. Alexander Consistory # 117. Prince Smith was nominated and received his 33rd Masonic degree in 1997. Prince Smith is married to Dr. Jacquelyn E. Smith, an Associate Professor at Our Lady of the Lake University. Prince Smith has three biological children: Warren J. Smith II, Jacqua Jackson and Kayla M. Manja. Prince Smith has also helped to foster the lives of his adopted children: Chanel Ki'shonna Smith, Andrea, Audrey and Alisha Gray.
His businesses included a lawn care company, a book store and a restaurant/bar. He intends to keep teaching, coaching and counseling our youth.
