Things Are Not Always As They Appear

Remember when you went to the movies or read a book that completely caught you off guard? The sheer elation you felt left you wanting more. I’m also sure that we have all experienced moments where storylines became so highly predictable that you started to bet with your friends what would happen next. Those stories almost seem formulaic by design offering little to the imagination. These stories are designed to take you off of the beaten path of archetypal characters and foreshadowed events into a place of unexplored depth. Zealey employs profound levels of sensory imagery, parallelism and dramatic irony to develop his characters and situational awareness. Keep in mind, Things are not always as they appear. Efrem Zealey was born in Pensacola, Florida, where he would have remained forever had not the U.S Navy called his father elsewhere. He developed a penchant for storytelling, many with embellished details (out of necessity).

Armed with his degrees from Christ for the Nations Institute, Dallas and the University of California, Los Angeles, Zealey set his sights on the staffing industry where he supported others in achieving their career goals.

Choosing to impart wisdom and academics to a new generation of students, Zealey became a high school English teacher. Employed during a hiring freeze, and succeeding despite Vegas odds, he is confident he made the right choice.

Entrusted with the task of evaluating student performance, and bringing them up to grade level, Zealey discovered a number of students struggled with the basic mechanics of reading. These students subsequently missed out on the joy reading can bring. These stories were born from those deficiencies.
