Becoming a Judge

Michael S. Jordan's book describes his life and his path to becoming a judge. His path intersects many others, including that of John Paul Stevens, who was on his own path to the United States Supreme Court. Jordan puts events in perspective, describing the political environment in Chicago with the Watergate and Greylord scandals and how the system of corruption casts its shadow over all, including judges in the Circuit Court of Cook County. Many examples are presented showing how people can make a difference if they stand up to corruption and intolerance, and how people can be a force for good or a force for evil. Along the way, Jordan describes the roles played by his many mentors and sponsors, showing that no one walks his path alone. We all need help.
