Caesar, a small mixed-breed dog with one floppy ear loves playing ice hockey.

There’s only one problem.

He’s no good at it.

But Caesar doesn’t let that stop him. He may be only a third-line benchwarmer for the Shakopee hockey team, but Caesar puts his heart into every practice.

And still Coach Remi won’t play him.

That is, until…

The Shakopee team comes up against the Ice Dogs in the playoffs.

When the Ice Dogs take out the first-line players and the second-line runs away in fright, only Caesar and his third-line benchwarmer friends are left.

But will Coach Remi play Caesar? Is this Caesar’s big chance or will the Ice Dogs crush him beneath their skates like so much melting snow?
