Lies Along the Mississippi

Samuel Clemons (aka Mark Twain) grew up on her banks and went on to become that godlike creature, a Mississippi Riverboat pilot. As much as he loved the old girl, he knew she was never to be trusted. The people who live and work and love and die and sometimes kill and haunt on her banks or in her muddy current recognize she is nobody’s water park. She goes where she chooses and takes anybody she likes with her. Along the way she generates stories that deserve to be told.

The focus of this fifth anthology is on the Mississippi River and its denizens. The stories in this anthology come from the pens and computers of the award-winning Malice in Memphis mystery writers group. Meet the characters whose lives are defined by secrets, barbecue, blues, ghosts, killers and rescuers, lovers and haters, crime and-sometimes-punishment. All are touched by the river for good or more frequently by evil. The characters and the tales are fiction-the river is not.
