Sophia Young had earned a spot on the Kickapoo High School varsity cheerleading squad as an incoming freshman through hard work & athleticism. However, the summer before starting high school her family moved two hundred fifty miles from everyone & everything she had ever known.The move, loss of friends & having to give up her cheerleading spot hurt deeply, but the simple fact that she didn’t have any choice in any of it is what hurt most of all.In a moment of anger, Sophia discovers some old tapes in a long-forgotten cubbyhole. With the help of an unusual friend & while battling with her conscience, Sophia makes some choices that help her come to terms with her summer of discontent .
