Fresh out of high school and still never been kissed, Gin Johnson already has a place in her family's farm business, but she wants more-a career and a love all her own. She harbors a secret dream of becoming a romance author, but her inexperience in love results in repeated rejections from publishers. And if that isn't enough, she's constantly overlooked as a "little girl" by everyone in her small island town, including her long-term crush.

Following the retirement of his nemesis Jett Ramsey, racing bad boy Tyler Madden grapples with his identity on the track, struggling to carve out his own legacy. However, his father's obsession with defeating the Ramseys undermines Tyler's every move. Now, his position on the team is in jeopardy after a crash on the track leads to his suspension and an ultimatum: clean up his reputation or face expulsion from the sport.

With both Gin and Tyler needing a quick fix for their public perception issues, they agree to fake date with a goal of getting Tyler back in the driver's seat and Gin in her crush's arms. But the plan has a few naysayers, most notably Tyler's control-hungry father and his nemesis Jett, who also happens to be Gin's childhood friend. They're prepared for the public scrutiny and the sabotage, but a shift in the end game could throw them both off track.
