The Very Small Adventures of Anne Katrine

Ten-year-old Anne Katrine (pronounced Ann-eh Kah-treen-eh) loses one of her favorite people-her grandmother. Her grandmother had promised to tell her a life-changing secret on her eleventh birthday. Now, she thinks she will never know what it was.

Her parents travel to Denmark to settle the late woman’s estate and leave their daughter in Pennsylvania for what was meant to be a temporary stay. If living with her spiteful relatives during her parent’s trip wasn’t hard enough, her parents’ plane mysteriously disappears over the Arctic Circle.

It is a curious visit by a group of very strange strangers that leads Anne to discover some astounding magic that changes her life, forever. What she discovers, in the surrounding woods, are two Yulnisser - Danish Elves, each no more than 5 inches tall. Yul and Nissa are not your typical elves and offer her magic seeds so she can be elf-sized, too.

The three become friends and after meeting a silly young owl named Dumbert, their adventures begin with the challenge of decrypting a set of secret instructions in order to return the elves to their homeland of Norlin (Land of the Arctic Sun) to replenish their supply of magic. Without knowing it, Anne holds the key.
