Special Ed and the gang are back!
They meet Kennedy, who is deaf and cannot hear danger approaching, so, she must stay in a pen by herself. Special Ed knows her loneliness
and sets out to be her friend. Teaching Kennedy his own brand of sign language proves to be difficult. And the bull-ies are no help as they
are convinced Kennedy CAN hear, and in the end their mischief puts everyone in danger.
Children with disabilities are especially susceptible to bullying- which inspired me to write this story. Special Ed is based on a real-life special-needs calf on our ranch. I wanted to show the empathic nature of Special Ed, who suffered the same loneliness as Kennedy as a young calf. I hope children will read this book and see that we each have something to offer, and even bullies can soften their hearts.
