Rowena, born to Johnny and Mary Burr, was born and raised in Tampa, FL. She is a woman who looks at things from the spirit and soul being able to apply encouraging words on paper to help someone else. It was in the 9th grade when she fell in love with writing poetry. Rowena will never forget when she was in English class one day and the teacher had the class to write an essay in poetry form. She did not have a clue on what to write. Rowena’s sister happened to be into poetry as well. One day while sitting at home she asked her sister for help. In doing so, Rowena read some of her poetry and by then she had gotten the feel of it. Rowena wrote her essay without any problems. She found out that poetry is within and comes from the most inner part of your soul, the part that holds the most pain, hurt, love, peace, and joy. Rowena earned an A+ and the teacher became the first to encourage her that her poems should be published. Today, she uses her gift of poetry to help hurting souls release the heaviness of this world, letting them feel hope that they are not alone. No more weeping and no more mourning. Dry your tears, your time has arrived .-Rowena Smith
