A Simple Smile: A Poetic Memoir by Dorothy Mahfood

Do you want to get killed? These are racehorse!

Sir, I won’t get killed; I was born on a horse.

Whether galloping wild in the Jamaican countryside; clinging to the dependable love of a mother and grandparents; celebrating the history, people, and language of Jamaica; or imparting a lifetime of wisdom, A Simple Smile’s narrative imagery draws readers into Dorothy Mahfood’s inspiring life of tender confidence.

This poetic memoir is summed up thematically by country, family, nature, God, and aging. In it, you will discover a unique blend of past and present, struggle and success.

A Simple Smile, Dorothy Mahfood’s debut poetry collection, is delightful yet poignant, with an undercurrent of expectant hope.
