sin cesar is an independent grassroots literary magazine established in South Central LA that publishes and promotes contemporary expressions of Black & Brown imagination, extends a bridge to Mexico & Latin America, and translates work on both sides in both English & Spanish as an act of solidarity with our communities. Additionally, sin cesar operates at Re/Arte Centro Literario in Boyle Heights. Re/Arte offers workshops, reading groups, open mics, and community events featuring local, national, and international Black & Brown artists, poets, and authors.

sin cesar is a Spanish phrase meaning "without stopping" "without doubts" and also refers to "without kings or masters."
