The First Epsitle of John, Is the first book from The Faith Translation, A paraphrase translation that expounds upon The Faith of Christ in all the scriptures. Introduction to The Faith TranslationThe Faith Translation is not a word for word translation, however, we have most certainly used and taken into consideration all the original word for word language, adding understanding by expounding on what is being said, utilizing truth that can be seen in scripture if they are not already contained in the verse, and based on the context of the book or letter and most importantly how it communicates The Faith that is in Christ who is the spirit of prophecy throughout scripture whether it be in the Old or New Testament.Here is a simple example: The King James Version, which is the most recognized word for word translation says this in 1 John 5:5: This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. And the Faith Translation of the same verse: This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God, the only immortal, is only light and life, and in Him is no death or darkness at all. There are two elements that have been added to this verse for understanding and emphasis: The first being that Light and Life and Death and Darkness are interchanged in the Gospel of John (John 1:4) as well as in Paul’s writings (2 Cor 6:14). The second is that God is the only immortal, a point that Paul writes to Timothy in 1 Timothy 6:16, and the importance of addressing this point is to highlight the type and quality of life that is being referred to here.The Faith Translation has its highest priority in communicating the truth of Christ that is contained in all scripture, as to declare The Faith .
