What Remains

Selena Santos is no ordinary teenage girl. Sure, she has great friends and a crush on the cute boy at school . . . but everything is not as it seems. The world has spent the last sixty years plagued by viruses, and the human population has been decimated. In a last-ditch effort to find a cure for the end of humanity, a group of scientists developed a program that offered hope: genetically altered children who are immune to the deadly viruses.

Forced to remain at a secret academy isolated from the non-altered population, Selena begins to question the true extent of her immunity. She knows she's a science experiment, but the worst part? She's not even sure what in her DNA makes her so different. Plus, she can't ignore that more and more students and teachers have mysteriously vanished from the Academy over the years. She must make a choice: Stay at the school with her friends and wait for help that may never arrive, or risk the dangers of the unknown and make the trek home to Portland.
