They happily gave to the country they loved but finding their new forever was more challenging than they ever dreamed.

Marine Lt. Colonel Darrell "Chopper" Frazier spent most of his adult life in the military as a special operations pilot. He is known for his uncanny ability to get in and get out of the roughest tactical situations with his team alive. He loved flying and the adrenaline thrill that accompanied the high-risk job, but after spending hours with Felicity "Doc" Torrez, MD, he knew what he was missing: stability and love. So when the time to get out arrived, he was ready to find Felicity and see if they had a future.

Felicity wasn't sorry she had left the Army but starting over in the civilian world was complicated. Adjusting to a different culture was challenging and isolating. She left the Army to start a family, but unfortunately, it wasn't as easy as it sounds. After every unsuccessful date, her mind would return to the Marine pilot who she met on her last night deployed and how he made her feel safe and happy.

Unexpectantly, they find each other again and begin to explore their attraction, mesh their goals, and settle into a new life. They are weaving into local life when an unfortunate decision puts Felicity in the hands of someone who has an entirely different plan for her.
