Question now is how we as Americans move forward to solve or eliminate the problems of systemic police brutality against Black American and people of Color. It is up to every American to get involve in solving the problems not just the politicians or the Police departments across the Country. This poem in a Book form depicts why Colin Kaepernick a NFL football (Quarterback) brought to the forefront a national public problem (police brutality) in his protest of kneeling down on one knee while the American National Anthem was being Played. He achieved his goal of National discussion, but with no active policy changes taking place on systemic racism, mistreatment and (killing) of Black Americans by police officers all over America. The NFL and most of its owners did not want to recognize it was a problem in our society until the George Floyd killing by a police officer. Had they address the problem then just maybe George Floyd would be alive today. It all boil down to acts of account ability for police officer when they commit a harmful wrongful act like killing a Black American for no just cause, when their lives are not endangered.I do not believe all police departments should be dismantle but I do believe in abolishing the choke hold, better and longer training with higher education for example all policers should have at least two year or associate college degree before become a policeman. The poem/book will give you an insight of the history of Black Americans, from slavery to nonviolent movement of the sixty’s to acquiring social rights like the right to vote, the right to equal house and education, in the case of Brown v. the board of Education.
