How many of us remember the story going - "When I was your age..." the rest of the story usually involved walking several miles uphill both ways typically to school or work at the age of 10, oh and I almost forgot the 10 ft of snow.
Those stories usually had a point, though it may have been lost based on how absurd they started. Yet they remained with us and are important to carry on and pass down. Even if it's only for laughs.
Those stories also remind us of who we are and/or who we wanted to be. Yet sadly our daughters may never know the woman behind the mom. Who we are - our hopes, dreams, failures, successes, disappointments, mistakes, triumphs, and let downs, all the things that make us, well, us. This is an import legacy that must be shared, if for no other reason than to leave a written word of us being here (hint: You Matter).
We try to hide who we are sometimes from our daughters for fear that they will make the same mistakes or not see us in the best light. This only diminishes the great love and understanding that they have for us. Having gotten to know my mother a bit more as a woman was one of the greatest highlights of being her daughter. To see the strength and beauty in her vulnerability is the greatest gift that she ever shared with me and I wish that we had more time.
This journal is my gift you- to use the time that you are given to share all that you are.
This contemporary journal is for Mothers, Grandmothers, Moms to be, Aunties, Godmothers or any other woman that wants to share who they are as a person with those special young women in their lives. This easy to use journal allows you to tell your own stories in your own words and in your own way.
Who you are beyond any label that is given you is a gift so I invite you to be brave, be vulnerable and share the gift of, When I Was Age...
