Zack Taylor is a young man living in a post-apocalyptic United States. Born with a genetic mutation, that forces him into the military and reduces his life span, Zack’s only goal in life is to be happy. That happiness is largely reliant on building a future with his girlfriend Sarah Evans, a promising young nurse. Beyond being with her, Zack does not have any real dreams or ambitions. However, it would seem that the same strings of fate that controlled his start to life are not yet done with Zack. Instead of happily ever after, Zack becomes wrapped up in a plot to overthrow the corrupt government with a band of rebels. To play his part, Zack must earn the trust of several members of royalty and stand ready for the rest of the rebels to get into place for a new government. But one can only live a lie for so long before the lines of real and fake are too blurry to see. The real question is what will change first, Zack or the world? Unavoidable Eminence is a new take on the typical post-apocalypse genre. A character driven narrative, UE reads like a cross between Scott Pilgrim and 1984, with heavy overtones contrasting relatively light, humorous character interaction. You can expect a tone that varies dramatically, but never bland in a writing style similar to a slice-of-life inspired by real world interactions of modern, young-adult Americans.
