About This Book and Study Guide
Knowing You Have Done Your Best, No Regrets Study Guide is an interactive book promoting resilience, survival, and growth, especially in the difficult times of life. If you have read the book this Guide accompanies, you are already acquainted with its emphasis, and hopefully you are encouraged to grow. Together, you and I want to empower growth through resilience for the right reasons. The book and the guide are books about choosing the highest, best, and truest courses of action even when circumstances are hard, or especially when things may not be going well. We’ve all been in tough circumstances. These can include loss of family members to death, and difficulties in our day-to-day personal and professional lives. We are called to take a higher road, to look beyond ourselves and our immediate struggles, to care for those who may be less fortunate and disadvantaged, to honor personal dignity even more than someone’s current station in life, to help others feel better about themselves in spite of differences, no matter how great or small. The Guide questions how you and I face changes for our futures, and encourages us to make time to create value in ourselves, with no regrets, by exercising faithfulness and giving. I am convinced that giving to others is a key way to make progress toward being able to say, No Regrets. When we know that we have done our best, no matter what, we see that this is a refreshing way to live, where satisfaction comes more from correctly being as well as rightly doing. And being always comes before doing if we are centered correctly, in my view. We can be motivated by something, or Someone bigger than us, if we choose to answer a higher call. When we understand our responsibilities are to be resilient and to care, traits that must be lived not just talked about, we enter into realms of higher and blessed existence not possible unless we adopt this belief as real life, not just theory. When we choose to place our priorities in correct order, we honor others’ experiences and care for them, motivated by much higher goals than just personal protection, thinking and acting with just self as the major thrust. I am convinced that concentration only on self is a non-productive way to exist in the long run, and often in the short term, too. We build ourselves up and do honor to us when we benefit others and reach out. This may be simple to state, often hard to do, but it is right. We are extensions of God. We are called to fulfill His desires for us by what we do because of who we are, not just in what we say. In fact, the doing and being are never far apart from each other; they are connected deep within the cores of our being because we want them to be. If you want to confront life’s ups and downs with improved perspectives, those centered far more than on just self, and personally benefit because you are growing in the process, then read on and let’s answer some questions together, if you are willing. This guide’s purpose is to help you and me think deeper and act upon what we are convinced is right and true.
