Wayne’s witty way of telling fish tales is masterful and amusing! His ‘tales’ have enlightened me to the fact that fish are under God’s constant and direct leading, reminding me so much of my own personal experiences. Digging for red wiggler worms or netting minnows and crayfish for bait are familiar to rural North Carolina fishing. These tales describe a successful day not by the number of fish in the cooler but by the heartfelt memories of time spent with family and friends.
Although I usually have a fishing plan for the day, I know that the wind, muddy waters, and other anglers can change those plans. So, I find myself asking, ‘Lord, what do I need to do?’ I then become totally dependent on God for direction (just as the fish are)!
