On the eve of her ordination to become a rabbi, Frances Chmiel stared at a pile of her mother’s Holy Ghost recordings lying scattered in piles of cassettes everywhere around her apartment, while her mother lay helpless in a hospital, diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. A year later, after listening to endless hours of recordings, her mother now gone, Rabbi Frances Chmiel decided that she needed to share her mother’s dialogues with the Holy Ghost and the overlapping narrative of those years of her mother’s life and her own.
