Gordon Reed was one of a diminishing group of pastors who saw his personal life as an expression of the life of Christ. Like Paul, he could say with confidence, For me, to live is Christ, to die is gain. Gordon had a unique way of communicating the love, guidance and forgiveness of Christ to people of all ages and stations in life. In fact, this gift born from the Spirit of Christ, brought him the same joy that Paul speaks of in Philippians. This commentary is not meant to add to or fully explain this book of the Bible, but it is an expression of one sinner sharing 90 years of working out his salvation with fear and trembling with fellow partakers of grace that our lives will be worthy of the gospel of Christ as we with one mind strive side by side for the faith of the gospel.
