Georgia Ayres is a fledgling reporter fresh out of high school when she joins the staff of one of Nashville’s two competing newspapers. While she expects her job to be rife with challenges, given her age and gender, she never dreams that it will also be full of uncertainty and intrigue revolving around a mysterious man, an elderly woman, and a turn of events that could shake the local newspaper industry at its core.

As she attempts to weave her way through an apparent conspiracy that stretches into the local political scene and threatens the closure of one of the two Nashville papers, she also finds herself on a journey of the heart that forces her to explore some of her deepest fears. When the precarious balance between her personal and professional life is turned upside down by love and loss, she must decide whether she is willing to accept the risks associated with change.

This is a book about how fear can prevent us from saying what we really feel to those who mean the most to us, and how friendship, however unexpected it appears, can help us gain the courage to voice the things we have left unsaid.
