Zina is compelled to shed her past by leaving tragic memories behind in her beloved home of Chicago, Illinois. She drops out of law school and relocates to Los Angeles, California after the tragic loss of fiance Troy Blackwell. Add to that, Nina, her twin is comatose. However, the City of Angels offers exciting opportunities as well as a new love by the name of Donovan, a sexy drummer. Zina resists at first, however, love has a mind of its own.
