Orange Harvest is the third and final book in the Orange Series. Set in 1968, the story brings together Alex, the son of Mac MacKenzie, from Orange Champagne, and Rose, the great-granddaughter of Carolina DeSilva, from Sweet Orange. Separated in age by 16 years, and as different as night and day, these two people find that they actually have a lot in common. Primarily, they were both raised on wealthy estates surrounded by orange groves. The environment is set amid tumultuous changes taking place in the country. Rose, a free-spirited artist, embraces them. Alex, a World War II veteran, feels the security of the world he grew up in crumbling. The original house built by Mac MacKenzie in Orange Champagne, is badly in need of renovation. With Alex's always-open checkbook and Rose's artistic talent, the old house becomes as vital to the story as the protagonists and is transformed into the mid-twentieth century as the reader turns the pages.
