AJ Overcomes: Cyberbullying

AJ gets called to the school counselor’s office because his grades are too low. He knows this is because he is distracted by the other kids in his class bullying him online. When he’s partnered up with Jun, a Japanese girl who also gets made fun of, he’s able to come up with a plan for handling his cyberbullies. Parents and teachers can use the AJ Overcomes series to help struggling readers move beyond picture books without becoming overwhelmed, and tackle relevant subjects without becoming discouraged. Discussion questions at the end of each chapter help with memory and comprehension. Diandra Walker started the AJ Overcomes series because of her passion for helping young, Black boys gain confidence as they begin to nurture a love of reading. She has worked as a teacher and media specialist. She currently resides in Thomaston, Georgia creating future installments of the AJ Overcomes series.
