A short novel about falling in love while your show is falling apart. Tanith Salazar was in final rehearsals for the play she’d written when the LAPD marched into the theater to tell her one of her actors was dead under questionable circumstances. When a tox screen revealed an overdose of prescription drugs - not his own - all of the cast and crew were suspects.
Detective Ysidro Palacio didn’t know what to expect; he’d never worked a case in a theater before. After the first tantalizing interview, he wasn’t too happy about the idea that Tanith had a killer in her cast.
Tanith was dealing with grief, worried about the rest of her cast, and afraid the investigation would blow up her biggest, most personal project ever. She was also trying not to be distracted by the good-looking detective.
Sid was chasing leads from Van Nuys to downtown, learning a little too much about the Million Dollar Theater, and not at all sure he wanted this particular case to close … because then he wouldn’t see Tanith anymore.
Adult situations, themes, and language. 53,500 words and a happy ending.
