The author, Rose (Clark) Morris is the sister of the slain Black Panther Party Leader. In 1969, Rose was a young girl with a front row seat to history. From her unique vantage point, she watched as her brother and other family members participated in the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Power Liberation Struggle. As a child, she experienced the trauma of her brother’s assassination and the deaths of their father, sister, and grandmother. Each death occurred during the turbulent period between 1968 and 1970.
