Experience has taught Elliana to live life safely, but now that she's a senior in high school, she feels like she just watches and waves as the parade of life goes by. So she starts taking risks and living life outloud, which helps her find a fantasy realm and a new love interest just in time for things to go from bad to worse. She is asked to save a dying star-a star that, oddly enough, has everything to do with the survival of love itself, but the onslaught of trouble tempts Elliana to admit defeat. She discovers she has a very real enemy who will stop at nothing to ensure she fails, but she learns a secret that demands she finish the job. But that requires taking more risks, and risks haven't really worked out well for her yet.
