Knipfer weaves a historical novella that offers twists and turns you’ll never see coming only tie up this lovely holiday tale with a bright red bow. As always, the prose is nearly poetic—Knipfer’s great skill, and it makes reading a delight. The characters are well thought out and not simple cut-outs-a difficult feat considering this is a novella and not a full-length historical.
