Almost a hundred years after A Flame in the Night, Millie Byron has never had the best luck, but spending six months in prison was one of the most difficult experiences of her life.

Thankfully, with the help of her exes, she escapes, but she has other problems: For one, she's a witch with a witch-soul inside of her, a shard of an entity that fuels her powers. Unfortunately, Millie hasn't been able to access her full powers. Also, worried about getting her exes Simon and Fel in trouble, she runs off in the middle of the night and finds herself in a warm tavern in the foggy, quiet, mysterious town of Forgotten Hill, Massachusetts.

There, she meets the beautiful and charismatic Leon Laflamme, who offers to help her, but soon they're trapped together under the threat of a monster tearing them apart. Can they survive together, and what will Millie need to do to unlock her true potential?
