A college freshman at a Michigan university, Virgil Pitcher, joins a fraternity of Nephilim warriors, half human half angel beings. The fraternity is a part of a secret society of Nephilim called Paladins. By their blood and sacrifices humanity has remained oblivious to a war that has been raging for millennia. A legion of demons, Fallen Angels, and evil Nephilim called Death Dealers are driven to revive the slumbering demonic god, Diablos. Diablos is an all-powerful being who is prophesized to bring about the destruction of everything in an epic war called Ragnorak.All men and women have the capacity for good and evil…Virgil undergoes the pledging process to become a brother, gaining strong friendships, and the beginning of a new love, while overcoming fierce obstacles. He learns every Nephilim is gifted with a Devil Arms, representations of one’s inner most self, manifested in a unique tattoo like symbol on the hand. The symbol’s color represents the wielder’s aligned element, one of six that create the building blocks of all life. Virgil is unique having two symbols, one aligned with Chaos, one with Creation. On Virgil’s first day as a pledge the group is attacked by a pack of demons. Feelings of rage build inside Virgil, he yells out the name of his Chaos Devil Arms, Soul Reaver. Soul Reaver materializes as a scythe covered in black flames. Virgil discovers he is the second Nephilim to bear Soul Reaver. It was once wielded by the first Death Dealer, a cruel and heartless warrior who was also the son of Lucifer, the Commander of the Fallen Angels. Virgil fears he too is the son of Lucifer, and his fellow pledge brothers are weary of his dark powers.Things explode into chaos when an Arch Demon is unleashed by the Death Dealers upon Virgil’s community. They seek to destroy an ancient relic that holds the barrier in place between Earth and the demonic world, if destroyed Ragnorak will be inevitable. Crime rates and death tolls begin to mount from the spike in demonic activity, drawing the attention of the national media. Virgil wields the mighty Soul Reaver, is it enough to stand against the forces of darkness? Will its power lead him into chaos, or can his friendships redeem him?
