Jackson Hart relocates to San Francisco from Atlanta for a fresh start and in eighteen months, has not met anyone that ignites a romantic spark, until he meets Ella.

Jackson wants Ella to stay in San Francisco and encourages her to use her recuperation time to deal with her grief. When a family emergency arises, Jackson rushes to Atlanta. Torn between his feelings for Ella and his duty to family, he resigns his position at Bayside Medical Center and makes plans to return to the Southeast to care for his aging grandparents.
