Let’s Play: A Social Connection Book Game

Let’s Play is a creatively designed book game. Therapists, school counselors, parents, and other professionals working with children and adolescents can utilize this book to address a variety of needs. Let’s Play follows an integrative psychoeducational model incorporating elements of directive, humanistic, and developmental/attachment theories and processes. Let’s Play utilizes influences from play therapy with an underlying focus on relationship development between professional/parent and child. The variety of experience and activity in Let’s Play allows for addressing a plethora of relationship related needs. Professionals and parents can have a fun and engaging experience with children and adolescents through the connection activities, and can ask follow up questions and role model when participating in the interactive options. Let’s Play can also serve as an assessment tool allowing professionals to gain insight and information about the child or adolescent - their families, their thoughts and feelings, likes and dislikes. It functions as a useful resource for both individual and family therapy.
