Red Souls

A 170 year old Master of the Freezing Breath named Gem needs a band of willing fighters to help her stem the tide of Underworld entities, the Red Souls, streaming into the physical world through the Astral Gate. The Red Souls attack the minds and emotions of human beings, driving them to violence and despair. She recruits four unlikely people to join the Circle of Augustus and help her drive the Red Souls out of Los Angeles. Willet Du Place is a recluse with hyper-sensitive hearing who lives in the desert to avoid the noise of modern life. Loud sounds give her excruciating migraines. Her sister, Audrey, takes care of her and runs a computer consulting business out of their isolated home. Dean is a rock drummer and audio engineer, . His best friend, TJ, is a real estate investor who owns a rock club where Dean plays with his band. How these people come together seems random. None of them believe in Gem at first. They think she’s crazy, but Gem reveals the veil separating the physical world from other levels of vibration and shows them how to see through it into worlds of amazing and frightening beings. Each of the new Circle members finds strengths within themselves that they didn’t realize they had. They will need every resource to fight an ancient foe who has plans for Los Angeles that will doom the city and push it into the Underworld.
